As a testament to our reputation, and a highlight of our Choristers' capabilities, we've earned many notable achievements; which include performances for dignitaries (including Britan's Royal Family), at world events (such as the 2010 Olympic Flame welcome and Torch Relay), and their recent first-place award in the Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival (Austria, July 2011). Growing steadily in size and status, the Choir consists of approximately 80 dedicated and enthusiastic singers, ages eight to eighteen. Each child is a member of either our Concert or Apprentice ensemble, enabling him or her to learn precise vocal technique and diverse genres of music at the appropriate level. Under the guidance of Victoria Children’s Choir Founder and Artistic Director, Madeleine Humer, Choristers deliver stirring performances that earn them regular invitations to collaborate with esteemed mentors (Stephen Hatfield, Louise Rose) and others in Victoria's thriving local arts community (Pacific Baroque Orchestra, the Victoria Symphony Orchestra, Fretwork Viol Consort, and Pacific Opera Victoria). Community support is an important aspect of the Victoria Children’s Choir experience. We believe each Chorister can use his or her talents to be a leader and help others. That’s why, in addition to presenting two signature concerts every season, VCC kids and teens make guest appearances at select community events, for seniors and special interest groups, and to support local causes. By sharing the joy and happiness of choral music the Victoria Children’s Choir makes a notable difference.
With commitment, talent, and enthusiasm, we sing our hearts out!
