Festival Tour to Austria!

How better to mark a significant anniversary than with our biggest opportunity (and challenge) so far. In July 2011, 37 Choristers will travel from Victoria to Austria, to compete in the Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival.

Following the Festival, Choristers will embark on series of recitals. Traveling from Vienna through Austria and on to the Czech Republic and Hungary, VCC will perform as proud ambassadors for Canada.

July 3: Performance in the Musikhochschule, Vienna

July 4: (1) Competition in the Celebration Sing-a-long Concert (Musikverein), Vienna. (2) Tour Concert in Vienna

July 5: Gala Concert for Festival Winners (Musikverein), Vienna

July 7: Tour Concert in Stiftskirche Reichersberg, Oberösterreich

July 8: Tour Concert in Ursulinenkirche, Landstrasse, Linz, Oberösterreich

July 11: Tour Concert in Innsbrucker Dom, Tyrol

Our journey includes fundraising efforts by our Board, parents, and volunteers who are organizing everything from grassroots events, our concerts, and corporate giving program.

We are also grateful for the words of encouragement from Premier Christy Clark, The Honourable Steven L. Point, OBC, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, and other community dignitaries.

With everyone's support, not only will the travel cost to bring Canadian talent to the Festival will be significantly eased, but our excitement to represent our city and country as ambassadors-in-song will be equally boosted!
