What a pleasure it was to share Joy in Every Note on December 6th and 7th in beautiful Alix Goolden Hall! Across two matinee performances, our singers brought months of learning and care to the stage, filling the hall with music and presence. Singing to a full house both days gave the concerts a sense of momentum and shared excitement that stayed with us long after the final notes.
Our choristers truly rose to the occasion. They sang with confidence, focus, and generosity, listening closely to one another and shaping the music with intention. Their commitment to the ensemble and to the music itself was clear, and it was deeply rewarding to see that work come alive in performance.
That sense of shared experience extended well beyond the stage. The energy in the hall, the stillness during quieter moments, and the enthusiastic response at the end of each set all spoke to how fully the audience was engaged. It was a joy to perform for listeners who were so present and responsive!
These concerts were the result of many hours of thoughtful preparation. We are grateful to our artistic team, our administrative team, our board, and to the families who make it possible for our singers to commit fully to this work, supporting a level of excellence that continues to define the Victoria Children’s Choir.
As we move into the holiday season, we wish everyone a time of rest, connection, and joy. We are already looking ahead to our 25th anniversary concert in the spring, and we hope you will join us for what will be a heartfelt celebration of the choir, its music, and the community that has grown around it over the years.
With gratitude from all of us at the Victoria Children’s Choir.
