The Victoria Children’s Choir has a 20-year history of success as a cultural organization that aspires to artistic excellence through choral music and music education.  The Choir has over 110 choristers in four choral ensembles, ranging from 7 to 25 years old, and is celebrated as one of the premier children’s choirs in Canada.

The VCC is currently looking for our next Manager, Communications and Administration.  Our ideal candidate is a self-defined creative, with an innate knack for developing engaging communications strategies that drive growth with positive social impact. Impeccably organized with an appreciation for the arts, our next Manager, Communications and Administration will be drawn to the day-to-day variety that comes from splitting their focus between communications design and front-line, hands-on, administrative leadership with the Prelude Choir. A team-player who is naturally creative and collaborative, this high-impact role will be instrumental in firmly planting the VCC on the regional, national, and international stages as a leader in choral development, music education, and artistic excellence.


The Manager, Communications and Administration is a one-year, part-time, contract position reporting directly to the Executive Director with close relationships to both the Communications Committee and the Prelude Choir Director. The annual stipend offered for this role is $10 000 CAD with some volunteer time required during the busiest times of the season. 





  • Manage VCC social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram)

  • Manage the VCC website (Wix experience is helpful)

  • Oversee production of all marketing material, working closely with our external graphic designer and Communications Committee

  • Coordinate printing and distribution of concert posters, programmes and brochures

  • Create e-marketing material for concerts, recruitment, fundraisers etc.

  • Manage the posting of concert recordings to the VCC YouTube channel

  • Manage the VCC email domain as required

  • Update the VCC marketing database

  • Write and distribute press releases as required

  • Develop and implement an annual marketing and promotional plan



  • Attend all Prelude Choir rehearsals (7-9 year olds, Tuesdays 3:30 – 6:30pm Sept - June), choir performances, staff and parent meetings;

  • Manage the administrative and scheduling tasks related to the Prelude Choir; working closely with the Prelude Choir Director

  • Manage financial transactions with families related to uniforms, concert tickets and fundraising;

  • Ensure clear and timely communication with Prelude Choir families and VCC staff throughout the season;

  • Create and maintain a safe, enjoyable and positive environment for the choristers at choir events;

  • Possess a current Emergency First Aid & CPR C/AED certification;

  • Work within the budgetary guidelines for the choir

  • Contribute to the organizations overall vision in collaboration with the entire artistic and administrative team of the VCC.
