Looking Ahead to a Landmark 25th Anniversary Year

The Victoria Children’s Choir (VCC) recently concluded a remarkable season with our Spring Signature Concert, Connected in Song, held on June 7 and 8, 2025, at the beautiful Alix Goolden Performance Hall. With performances from all four of our ensembles—Prelude, Recital, Concert, and Youth Choirs—this concert brought together voices aged 7 to 20 in a vibrant and heartfelt celebration of community and music.
We could not be more proud of our choristers. Their dedication, hard work, and growth this season were evident in every note sung and every piece performed. From young singers just beginning their choral journey to seasoned youth developing into confident vocal leaders, Connected in Song was a testament to the power of artistic mentorship.

This year’s repertoire highlighted our deep commitment to Canadian music and multicultural expression. Audiences were treated to works by renowned Canadian composers, including Oscar Peterson, Eleanor Daley, Brian Tate, Mary Knickle, Chris Sivak, and Indigenous composer Andrew Balfour. These pieces—paired with folk songs and music from around the world—reflected the diversity and richness of our cultural landscape, and the many ways in which music unites us across backgrounds and generations.
The performances were moving, joyful, and unforgettable—truly a fitting conclusion to what has been one of our most successful seasons yet.

As we look back with pride, we also look forward with great excitement. Next season marks the 25th anniversary of the Victoria Children’s Choir—a milestone that represents a quarter century of musical excellence, youth development, and community building. We’re already hard at work preparing for a year of meaningful celebration and exceptional performances, and we can’t wait to share those special moments with our audiences, supporters, and alumni.
To all who joined us at Connected in Song—thank you. Your presence and encouragement mean the world to our choristers and our organization. Stay connected with us as we begin planning for our most exciting season yet!
