In Memoriam - Clarisa Morrison

Updated: Apr 29, 2020

Clarisa Morrison, Recital Choir Accompanist

We have lost a much-loved member of our VCC family.  It was with great sadness we heard of Clarisa Morrison’s passing on Feb. 9, 2019. A critical part of the VCC Artistic Team from 2010 – 2019, Clarisa brought such joy into rehearsals and performances, and the musical sensitivity she brought to each piece when accompanying our young singers in the Recital Choir will leave a lasting impression on everyone who worked with her and heard her in concert. Our thoughts are with Clarisa’s family at this sad time. Clarisa will be sorely missed by us all, and by David, Veronika and the Recital Choir in particular, but for those of us who were so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with her during her years with the Victoria Children’s Choir, she will be remembered with great love.

In lieu of flowers, Clarisa requested that donations be made to the Victoria Seventh-day Adventist Church’s ‘New Church Fund’. Condolences may be made at www.earthsoption.com

The Victoria Children's Choir is a Member of Choral Canada and the BC Choral Federation.

We would like to acknowledge that we gather on the unceded, ancestral lands of the Lekwungen speaking peoples – the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations, who have stewarded these lands and waterways since time immemorial, and whose connection to the land continues to this day. We are grateful to live, learn, raise our families, and make music on these beautiful lands. We would also like to acknowledge our Métis, Inuit and urban Indigenous partners and friends who call these lands their home.
