Words of thanks from Canadian Cancer Society

On October 6th the Concert Choir was invited to sing at the Tour de Rock finale event. Here are words of thanks from the Canadian Cancer Society.

“Hi Carla

First and foremost we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for your support of the Canadian Cancer Society’s Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock. This amazing island-wide event relies heavily on the support from individuals like you in order to raise money for pediatric cancer research and support programs like Camp Goodtimes. The support that you have shown will make a difference to the lives of children and their families living with cancer.

The Finale was a huge success. Tour de Rock raised over $1.3 million this year. We couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you for coming out to perform at the finale and putting up with the rain. We really appreciate what you and your choir do for us. Everyone loved them.

Since its inception in 1998, the Canadian Cancer Society Cops for Cancer campaign has made a big impact in the fight against cancer.  Cancer survival rates are at an all-time high, thanks to caring and committed communities and the research and services these monies make possible.  But we know there is still a long road ahead.

In addition to research, monies raised go towards sending children with cancer to Camp Goodtimes.  This camp is a special place where children with cancer can distance themselves from their illness and can simply enjoy the unfettered freedom of just being a kid – no labels attached.  Each summer, approximately 600 kids attend Camp Goodtimes at absolutely no charge to them or their families.

Thank you again for supporting your local community Cops for Cancer. Together, we work as a team so no one has to fight cancer alone.  Together, we will make cancer history. On behalf of the kids and their families that you have directly helped, thank you so very much!”

Thank you
