The Tenors | Victoria, BC

Audience members enjoyed holiday favourites sung by internationally known Canadian vocalists, The Tenors, who shared the stage with our choristers during a stop in Victoria on their tour.   

 

Christmas Lights Across Canada | Victoria, BC

The Recital Choir brought their songs and carols to the BC Legislature in this cross country event featuring illumination ceremonies at Parliament buildings throughout Canada.

 

July 2017

Maritimes Tour

During our Sea to Sea Tour, students participated in an enriching two-week adventure of music and cultural educational. As ambassadors, they connected our west and east coasts through a special repertoire of music that brought people together in many communities.

For Canada 150, our choristers learned songs that created many parts of our multicultural heritage, as well as the diverse music of contemporary Canadian artists. Thirty-five of our choristers shared this repertoire throughout the Maritimes, and had the honour of performing during the official Canada Day celebrations in Charlottetown, the birthplace of confederation.

World of Song Season Finale | Victoria, BC

Choral Music from Sea to Sea was the theme of our final regular concert of 2017. Celebrating Canada 150! Featuring traditional songs from homelands that founded our Nation’s culture – including English, French, Gaelic, Acadian, First Nations, African, and European pieces – as well as inspiring new Canadian compositions!

A special appearance to honour veterans at God’s Acre Cemetery.

 

April 2017

Second Annual Spring Sing! | Victoria, BC

Gala music fundraiser, held at Pacific Opera Victoria, Egon Baumann Centre. This elegant evening showcases and supports the musically-talented students of the Victoria Children’s Choir. Featuring: singing and musical performances by choristers of the Concert and Recital ensembles, appearances by Victoria Children’s Choir alumni, and special guests – as well as wine and hors d’oeuvres, silent auction, and door prizes.

 

VIMY100 | Victoria, BC

A music and special event commemoration. The Choir performed I am the Song, Irish Blessing, O Canada, and God Save the Queen at this open house event, along with the Cadet band, local vocalists, the Canadian Scottish Regimental Pipes and Drums, and 5th Field Regiment band.

Carmina Burana | Victoria, BC

A group of Victoria Children’s Choir singers had the pleasure of joining in the Victoria Symphony Orchestra’s presentation of Carmina Burana. The work explores the joys and sorrows of life through alternating choruses, solos, and dances that range in tone from pure joy to a reflective wistfulness.

 

February 2017

Pacific Baroque Festival | Victoria, BC

The Concert Choir sang with the Pacific Baroque Orchestra, performing “Three Lapsed Lawyers”. The uplifting music of Telemann (based on Lutheran chorales) was complemented by a flute concerto by Johann Heinichen and an overture by Christoph Graupner.
